The shared sherut vans from Ben Gurion no longer run, and bus 485 to Jerusalem skips Shabbat and ends at the central bus station. The shared door-to-door option today is a taxi split between people landing in the same window.
The tariff band is computed from the price-control order in force since 1 April 2026, holidays included. The train status is rule-based rather than live, and Shabbat start times shift weekly. For exact departures check Moovit or the Israel Railways app.
The rules
The meter has 3 bands. Band A is the daytime rate, Sunday to Thursday 06:00 to 21:00 and Friday until 16:00. Band B is about 14 percent higher: weeknights from 21:01, Friday afternoon, and Saturday and holiday daytime. Band C is about 28 percent higher: Thursday from 23:01, Friday and holiday eves from 21:01, and Saturday and holidays from 19:01. Trains stop before the rest day starts and return after it ends.
