Founding HR & Operations Manager
Remote friendly within Israel
PairMee is building taxi sharing for Israel, and you would be its first people hire. As Founding HR & Operations Manager you build the team and the operating rhythm from zero: how we hire, how we onboard, how we plan, and how decisions get made and written down.
There is no HR department to join here. There is a founder, a small team, and a company that needs its operating system built well the first time. That is the appeal and the risk in one sentence: everything you set up will actually be used, and nothing exists until you create it.
You will thrive here if ambiguity reads as room to build rather than chaos, if you write processes people genuinely follow, and if you care that candidates and teammates are treated honestly at every step.
What does operations mean at an early-stage startup?
At this stage, operations means building the machine rather than running one. There is no playbook to inherit: hiring, onboarding, contracts, planning cycles, and the weekly rhythm all get created by you. You will make them simple, write them down, and change them as the company grows.
What you will do
- Design and run hiring end to end: sourcing, interviews, offers, and onboarding that works from day one.
- Build the operating rhythm: planning cycles, check-ins, and a decision record the whole team can trust.
- Set up the people foundations: contracts, payroll and benefits coordination, and policies sized for a small Israeli startup.
- Own day to day operations so the product team stays focused on shipping.
- Shape the culture deliberately, with honesty as the default in how we treat candidates, teammates, and riders.
- Act as the founder’s operating partner as the team grows from a handful of people to a real company.
You might be a fit if
- You have run HR or operations at an early stage startup and liked the mess.
- You write things down clearly and keep processes as light as they can safely be.
- You are comfortable being the only people person for a while.
- You treat candidate experience as a product, with honest timelines and honest answers.
- You live in Israel and want remote friendly work.
