Remote friendly within Israel
PairMee matches travelers heading the same way in Israel so they can share a taxi and split the fare. You would be the founding engineer: the person who owns the codebase, the schema, and the deploy button. The product is built with React 18 and Vite on the front end, Supabase for Postgres, Realtime, and Auth, and Vercel serverless functions. You ship end to end, from migration to UI to production.
The stage is early and we will not dress that up. PairMee is live in early beta. That means outsized ownership, direct influence on architecture and product, and a real say in what gets built. It also means ambiguity, changing priorities, and the risk every early-stage startup carries. We would rather tell you that plainly.
You will thrive here if you like owning problems rather than tickets, if you can make sensible product calls when the spec is thin, and if shipping something real this week matters more to you than polishing something perfect next month.
What is the PairMee stack?
PairMee runs on React 18 with Vite, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase for Postgres, Realtime, and Auth, deployed on Vercel with serverless functions. Playwright covers end to end testing. It is one codebase that a single strong engineer can hold in their head, and you would own all of it.
What you will do
- Own the full stack: React and Vite on the front end, Supabase Postgres, Realtime, and Auth behind it, Vercel serverless in between.
- Design the schema and write the migrations for matching, join requests, groups, and notifications.
- Ship user facing features end to end, from database change to UI polish to production deploy.
- Own quality: Playwright end to end tests, performance budgets, and fixing what breaks in production.
- Shape technical direction with the founder: what to build now, what to defer, what to cut.
- Set the engineering habits the next hires will inherit, from code review to release rhythm.
You might be a fit if
- You have shipped and maintained production web apps for years and are comfortable across the whole stack.
- You have real depth in React and relational databases. Supabase experience helps but is not a gate.
- You default to shipping small and iterating over planning big and waiting.
- You can disagree out loud, commit, and revisit with data.
- You live in Israel and want remote friendly work with occasional in person time.
